Dress comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt, wear comfortable walking shoes with good traction, and no flip-flops for Twisted Trails. The cavern is a constant 70 degrees with a relative humidity of 99% that makes it feel more like 80 degrees regardless of the outside temperature and weather.
Cameras and GoPros are allowed on cavern tours, with flash permitted (except for wildlife), but tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not due to the moving nature of the tour. On Twisted Trails, only securely mounted GoPros (chest, wrist, or personal helmet) are allowed and subject to inspection. Drones are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, and all photo and video rights remain with Natural Bridge Caverns, Inc.
Yes, there are dining options available at Natural Bridge Caverns. Guests can enjoy treats like hand-dipped ice cream, fresh lemonade, beer, wine, and candy at Big Daddy’s Sweets, Treats and Brew, or grab a meal at the Cavern Café, which offers pizza, burgers, chicken strips, and more. Picnic areas are also available on a first-come, first-served basis, but note that outside food and drinks are only allowed in these areas—not inside dining spaces. For health and conservation reasons, no food, drinks (other than water), gum, or tobacco are allowed in the caverns, though special dietary needs can be approved at the Admissions Office.
Strollers are welcome in the park but not allowed on cavern tours; stroller parking is available during the tour.
The cavern tours are not wheelchair accessible and involve significant walking, stairs, and narrow passages. Mobility devices like wheelchairs, walkers, or crutches are not recommended due to the steep and uneven terrain. The Discovery Tour includes multiple stair sections and a final climb from 135 feet below ground, while the Hidden Passages Tour requires navigating 185 steps.
Natural Bridge Caverns is open year-round rain or shine, but outdoor attractions like Twisted Trails are weather permitting, so check conditions before coming.
The Discovery Tour is the most popular and largest tour, featuring massive rooms and spectacular formations. The Hidden Wonders Tour is a newer and more intimate tour, featuring delicate formations, a sound and light show, and a fun ride back to the surface.
