Find your way through one of the only permanent outdoor mazes in Texas. Pan for treasure, like miners panned for gold. Or, test your balance, agility and strength against our ropes course and zip rails. It’s Naturally Amazing.

Natural Bridge Caverns is one of the world’s premier show caverns. Discovered in 1960 by local cavers, this family owned and operated natural wonder is the largest cavern in Texas. More than two cave tours of two distinct and stunning caverns, the property also features above ground adventures of a different kind including a ropes course, zip rails, a 5,000 square foot outdoor maze, and an interactive “gem panning” activity. Natural Bridge Caverns is also home to the deepest venue in Texas, the Ballroom, with regular concerts and events. More of the cavern is still being discovered; the Wuest family along with their caving team are still actively exploring new areas in the massive system. Natural Bridge Caverns is a designated State Historical Site and National Natural Landmark of Historic Places.

The light show was awesome and I enjoyed how the tour was laid out. Even thought the trails were wet, I felt very safe. And that’s how the stalagmites and stalagmites in caves are formed Miya, my guide, was fabulous and very knowledgeable. She made the tour very fun.

I love this place! Yes, it is a bit warm in the caverns, but the view is so amazing. When you are about to leave, the BAT is a fun ride. And when you leave, there is a course of climbing, parkour, and ziplines. I will DEFINITELY come back again.

We had an amazing day! In addition to the cave tours, which were stunning, there was so much more to do! There are various lawn games like corn hole and connect four located around the property. The ropes course was intense! All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Where is Natural Bridge Caverns located?

Natural Bridge Caverns is located at 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Road, San Antonio, TX 78266, about 30 minutes north of downtown. Take I-35 North, exit 175, then follow FM 3009 west for about eight miles to reach the entrance.

Is parking provided?

On-site parking is available at $10 per vehicle (subject to change without prior notice).

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt, wear comfortable walking shoes with good traction, and no flip-flops for Twisted Trails. The cavern is a constant 70 degrees with a relative humidity of 99% that makes it feel more like 80 degrees regardless of the outside temperature and weather.

Can I bring a camera and a tripod?

Cameras and GoPros are allowed on cavern tours, with flash permitted (except for wildlife), but tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not due to the moving nature of the tour. On Twisted Trails, only securely mounted GoPros (chest, wrist, or personal helmet) are allowed and subject to inspection. Drones are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, and all photo and video rights remain with Natural Bridge Caverns, Inc.

Are there places to eat at the park?

Yes, there are dining options available at Natural Bridge Caverns. Guests can enjoy treats like hand-dipped ice cream, fresh lemonade, beer, wine, and candy at Big Daddy’s Sweets, Treats and Brew, or grab a meal at the Cavern Café, which offers pizza, burgers, chicken strips, and more. Picnic areas are also available on a first-come, first-served basis, but note that outside food and drinks are only allowed in these areas—not inside dining spaces. For health and conservation reasons, no food, drinks (other than water), gum, or tobacco are allowed in the caverns, though special dietary needs can be approved at the Admissions Office.

Are strollers allowed?

Strollers are welcome in the park but not allowed on cavern tours; stroller parking is available during the tour.

Are the caverns wheelchair accessible?

The cavern tours are not wheelchair accessible and involve significant walking, stairs, and narrow passages. Mobility devices like wheelchairs, walkers, or crutches are not recommended due to the steep and uneven terrain. The Discovery Tour includes multiple stair sections and a final climb from 135 feet below ground, while the Hidden Passages Tour requires navigating 185 steps.

How does the weather affect my visit?

Natural Bridge Caverns is open year-round rain or shine, but outdoor attractions like Twisted Trails are weather permitting, so check conditions before coming.

What is the difference between the Discovery Tour and the Hidden Wonders Tour?

The Discovery Tour is the most popular and largest tour, featuring massive rooms and spectacular formations. The Hidden Wonders Tour is a newer and more intimate tour, featuring delicate formations, a sound and light show, and a fun ride back to the surface.
